What’s the process for submitting a photo?
You can either send submissions to dearfuturecomegetme@thefoldrock.com, send pictures in the actual mail (we’ll scan them in for you) or bring them to our shows, and present them to us at our merch table! If you send them in, here’s the address: The Fold – Attn: Dear Future – PO Box 564 – West Chicago, IL 60186. Or if you already have the image hosted somewhere just twitter us the link, and make sure the photo stays up until you see it appear on this site.
Should I include any other info in the email?
It would be nice to include your name, age and home state – just for others to see where the campaign is taking itself – but it’s up to you.
How big should it be?
At least 600px wide & 72 dpi. If it’s a postcard or picture, it doesn’t matter so much since we’ll be scanning it in.
Can I submit more than once?
Please do! This contest is all about you expressing what you want to say, and I hope you have A LOT to say! Go for it, get it off your chest!
But, I don’t have a scanner?
No sweat, just take this photo (or this one) into your favorite photo software and add some text. Once again, you can either submit via email at dearfuturecomegetme@thefoldrock.com, or send pictures in the actual mail (we’ll scan them in for you). Does it NEED to be a picture or video?
No, as you can see we have a twitter feed in the right column, so simply post something to your twitter and add #dearfuture, and it will show up here. Nifty, we know.
How do you pick your favorites?
Whenever we can, we’ll get on here and choose our “Dear Future Post of the Week” and tweet about it to all of our friends. Once the contest is over (late November), we’ll go through them all once again, and pick the final 5 winners.
